OK, I have been researching Social Bookmarking sites, for my websites and blogs that I publish.

Here is a good starter list of social bookmarking sites with traffic overview.

The benefits of social bookmarking for a blog/site owner?

You can post your own links to your stories and pages and hope they are thought good enough to be voted on and/or stored by the communities. You MAY get new visitors, and in any case it can be useful to store your OWN bookmarks online.

  1. Delicious: One of the biggest - if you do nothing else, list here.
  2. Digg: Tech focussed and very busy. Essential to bookmark here if your website fits into Digg a category.
  3. Netscape: Busy general interest bookmarking site.
  4. Furl: Mostly tech bookmarking and fairly busy.
  5. Stumbleupon: Not as much traffic as others - literary theme.
  6. Yahoo MyWeb: General Interest Social Bookmarking, Yahoo community users.
  7. Newsvine: Politics and news bookmarking, fair amount of traffic, social bookmarking site.
  8. Reddit: Another Politics bookmarking site - not so busy.
  9. Lookmarks: Worth a look but lower traffic than other Social Bookmarking sites above.
  10. Blinklist: Low traffic social bookmarking site.
