Free SiteMap Generator for creating a Google Sitemap - ideal for Adsense

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

I’ve found this site http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ which may be useful for those of you that need a sitemap for your Google Adsense enhanced website. In any case, it is a good idea to have a sitemap for your website to help visitors (and search engines) find their way around all your pages.

This online service creates four, yes four, sitemaps on the fly after you input the starting url for your website.

Sitemaps created are in .xml format, .ror format, .txt format and .html format.

.xml format - ideal for submitting to Google.
.ror format - many other smaller search engines use this format.
.txt format - submit to Yahoo with this one.
.html - use as the basis for your own sitemap for your visitors - just adapt it to suit your website style.

Yo have options to set the change frequency of your web pages and also the priority you allocate to pages - this is explained well in the sidebar of the tool.

Allin all, this is a great solution for an instant Google Sitemap.

http://www.xml-sitemaps.com/ service is totally free.

Photograph of English Heritage Blue Plaque for T. S. Eliot (Public Domain)

Tuesday, February 6th, 2007

I was out walking again today and took a photograph of T.S. Eliot’s home in London in Kensington Court Place.

English Heritage Blue Plaque for T. S. Eliot

I enjoy poetry and whilst T.S. Eliot is not someone who I have enjoyed reading regularly, I have read some of his poetry and I am aware of the enormous influence he had on poetry during (and after) his lifetime. I like (from memory) The Journey of the Magi. I dislike (from memory) his cats poems.

I place this photograph in the public domain, as far as I am able, and allow any use including commercial.

No need to ask permission to use this photograph if it is of use to you, but if you really, really want to say thank you - why not link to Carbuncle’s blog so others can access the Public Domain pics here?

Charing Cross Station Photograph (Public Domain)

Sunday, February 4th, 2007

Here’s another photograph I took today from the station platform at Charing Cross in London. The Playhouse Theatre can be seen in the background, so if anyone is looking for directions to the Playouse Theatre - you could show them this pic.
