Free TV and Radio Shows – Audience Tickets

Wednesday, October 31st, 2007

Ok, I’ve had some great fun recently with Standing Room Only, attending TV comedy shows as a member of the audience, and I thought I’d share the fun with you.

Standing Room Only offer free tickets to television shows that are being recorded in and around London and throughout the UK. Registration is simple, (and free) and SRO will add you to their database and email you when shows need an audience and there are available free tickets.

It is also worth having a look at the Current Shows page at SRO where you can register your interest for any of the TV shows currently available.

SRO have been involved in supplying audiences for lots of great shows, just a few are… So Graham Norton, The Vicar of Dibley, They Think It’s All Over, Birds of a Feather, Bremner, Bird and Fortune, Coupling, Alastair McGowan’s Big Impression and Bo Selecta! (Many, many more – take a look – Standing Room Only).

I personally in the past few months with Standing Room Only, have been in the television audience for Bremner Bird and Fortune (Pinewood Studios Teddington), The Peter Serafinowicz Show (Notting Hill Gate Cinema), and a look-back to the eighties show with Lisa Tarbuck (White City Television Centre).

One thing I will say, is, only book and agree to tickets if you are absolutely sure you will be able to attend. The best way to get more tickets to future shows is by being reliable and turning up to be in the audience when you are allocated tickets. Once you have been to a few TV or Radio shows as a member of the audience, you will build up a relationship with the company offering the free tickets and may well get offered future tickets before they become more publically available.

There are, of course, other TV Audience companies, that offer free tickets for televison and radio audiences, that you might want to check out and register with, here’s a list:

Also, of course, it is possible to get free radio and TV tickets direct from the BBC. If you just want BBC Comedy Shows – Go here.

Do you know of any more free places to get television and radio audience tickets?

Bicycles in Kensington High Street, London (Public Domain Photograph)

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

I spotted this row of bicycles on the central reservation of Kensington High Street, London.

Kensington High Street is well known and much visited for its shopping attractions, with many big-name brands having stores there.

A recent high profile shop to open on the street was Whole Foods Markets.

Be sure to check out Hotel Chocolat – they often have free samples of delicious hand-made chocolate for tasting!

Kensington High Street runs from Kensington Palace through to Holland Park, going west away from London.

Sun in Splendour Public House, Portobello Road, (Public Domain Photograph)

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

Here is a photograph of the Sun in Splendour pub which is at the Notting Hill Gate end of Portobello Road.

This is a good, traditional, British Public House.

The Sun serves good beer and some good hearty pub grub in a comfortable “pubby” environment. There are some big leather sofas but you have to be lucky to get one, as the pub is always busy. The Sun in Splendour can get VERY busy in the summer.

The times I have been into “The Sun” for a pint there has been a good mix of visitors AND locals, so the pub doesn’t have the feel of a tourist pub, even though it attracts many of the visitors to Portobello Road.

The Sun in Splendour pub is definitely worth a visit, if you are passing by on the way to Portobello Road.

Know any other good pubs in London?
