Herb Garden Windowbox in Notting Hill, London (Public Domain Photograph)

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

I took a photograph of this little windowbox with herbs in a mews in Notting Hill, London.

The windowbox was sitting on a little wooden table at the front of the mews house.

A mews house, in London, is a conversion from a stable building that once housed horses and servants. There are lots of them around the Central London area, and a row of mews houses can look very picturesque indeed.

Orange Fiat 500 Hanover Square London (Public Domain Photograph)

Thursday, October 18th, 2007

Here’s a dinky little Fiat 500 I noticed in Hanover Square, London.

The car is obviously much loved and well looked after - it was gleaming in the afternoon sun. (Yes, we do occasionally get some sun in London. :-)

There is no need to ask permission to use this London photograph of an orange Fiat 500 car, if it is of use to you, but if you really, really want to say thank you - why not link to Carbuncle’s blog so others can access the public domain photographs here?

DesignArt London Show Hanover Square

Sunday, October 14th, 2007

My stamping ground lately seems to be in and around Hanover Square.

I visited the DesignArt London Show and enjoyed the modern and contemporary design and furniture on display.

The world’s 20 top design galleries were at the show. I was impressed by the high level of craftsmanship and stunning ideas for furniture and home decoration.

The design gallery was a temporary structure erected in Hanover Square for the weekend, and attracted passers by and visitors to London, as well as design enthusiasts and design professionals.

Earlier in the summer Hanover Square played host to Sothebys for an exhibition of fine art.
