Harley Davidson Motorbike Notting Hill, London (Public Domain Photograph)

Thursday, October 25th, 2007

Here’s a photograph that I took of a Harley Davidson motor-cycle outside a shop in Pembridge Road, Notting Hill, London.

The Harley Davidson was sitting up on the pavement outside a curio shop, looking very, very smart – the bike not the shop – the shop just looked businesslike…. :-)

The Harley-Davidson Motor Company is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States. It was founded in America in the very early 1900s… either 1901 or 1903, depending on which authority you accept. The Harley-Davidson Motor Company is now quoted on the New York Stock Exchange.

Many years ago I read a cracking science fiction novel by Roger Zelazny called “Damnation Alley” whose main character was a Hell’s Angel. A Harley-Davidson motorbike was his preferred mode of transport. I can recommend this science-fiction book if you find it in a second-hand bookshop book – a good read.

I place this Carbuncle’s Blog photograph of a Harley Davidson Motorbike in Notting Hill, London in the public domain, as far as I am able, and allow any use including commercial.

Any other good pics of motorbike out there on the web?

Photograph of Motorbikes and Scooters outside Foyles Bookshop (Public Domain)

Saturday, March 31st, 2007

I took this photograph in the sidestreet next to Foyles Bookshop, Charing Cross Road.

I liked the look of the scooters and motorbikes – very colourful.

It was quite a dull, overcast day in London (for a change) and that seems to have helped the quality of the photograph.

There is no need to ask permission to use this London photograph if it is of use to you, but if you really, really want to say thank you – why not link to Carbuncle’s blog so others can access the public domain pics here?
